The four new solar systems are expected to save an estimated $4.3 million over the next twenty years.<\/p>\n<p>Electricity generated from solar power is expected to offset 95% of the electricity cost at Rancho California Water District&#8217;s headquarters, 55% at the Senga Doherty Pump Station, and 90% each at the Castaic Lake Water Agency&#8217;s Rio Vista Water Treatment Plant and the City of Galt&#8217;s Wastewater Treatment Plant.<\/p>\n<p>A large part of the cost of municipal water is the electricity needed to run the pumps and treatment facilities.
