As water becomes more and more scarce, it has offset political problems throughout the globe.

More than a billion people across the globe don’t have access to safe water. Every day 3900 children die as a result of insufficient or unclean water supplies. The situation looks like it is becoming worse as water becomes evermore scarce.

Farmers in India are competing with the Coca Cola company for water. Disputes over water have exacerbated conflict in the Middle East (such as the Israel/West Bank situation). Western countries are encouraging global drought by importing fruits and vegetables from  regions that have suck their acquifir dry in the process of overfarming. And even here in America, the richest nation of the world, many people have to work or lobby hard to ensure their right to clean water.

“A World Without Water” is a fascinating story about the inevitable truth that world is running out of its most precious resource. First presented by the U.K.’s Channel Four, this timely film tells of the personal tragedies behind the mounting privatization of water supplies.

If you click the link in our previous comment above, there are two choices on that page for private or educational/etc — those will show the DVD in NTSC and PAL versions.
