A new study from Durham University recommends hydraulic fracturing operations maintain a minimum distance of 600 meters from ground water and other sensitive rock strata.
Fracking has been implicated in several instances of contamination of ground water resources, but few studies have been done by independent groups to determine how to go about fracking safely.
